Crisp snacks without a deep fryer

The circulating hot air gives snacks a crunchy crust with a spoonful of oil instead of a pot of it. French fries, potato wedges and onion rings all cook at 380 to 400 °F in 10 to 20 minutes. Chicken wings and chicken nuggets work for game days, and chickpeas make a lighter, crunchy option.

Party food and sweet bites

For a crowd, try nachos or garlic bread, which are ready in under 10 minutes. Cookies and brownies bake at about 320 to 330 °F for a snack with something sweet.

Cook in a single layer and avoid overfilling the basket, because crowded food steams instead of crisping. Shake the basket halfway through, and work in batches when you are cooking for more than two or three people. Dry foods well before they go in, and add salt after cooking when you can. For frozen snacks that are not covered here, check the air fryer cooking times chart.
